Adventures of day one!

Tanner’s Tavern ended up being…a little less than satisfactory. Tanner—a true Renaissance man who tripled as a cook, bartender, and waiter—wasn’t able to accommodate twelve people. But based off of his expertise in the area, we ended up eating at a real local gem (Arby’s, Sheetz, and Burger King). Apparently logistics is as unpredictable as the weather.

From good ol’ Tanner’s Tavern in Morgantown, West Virginia to Lexington, KY, we witnessed a couple of updrafts, scattered rain, and a shelf cloud.

Another change of plans landed us in Lexington, KY rather than Louisville.  However, this meant an upgrade from the Hyatt in Louisville to the Embassy Suites in Lexington, KY. With impeccable service, delicious breakfast, and various amenities, the Embassy Suites set the bar rather high. Gotta love that military discount. These plan changes are quickly preparing us for the uncertainty of our upcoming weather chasing days.
