Day 1 in Review - Kicking off SWIFT 2018!

The SWIFT team kicked off our 2018 chase season with an early start to the day with wheels up at 0600! After a day of reviewing weather briefs and a delicious dinner at the Burich household, we were eager to hit the road. We made our way through Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Inidana and Illinois, finally turning in for the night in O'Fallon, IL. We saw a few small cumulus clouds on our way, building our excitement even further. It was the first long drive of many to come, but we're ready to see some great storms. Tomorrow, we tour the 15th Operational Weather Squadron at Scott Air Force Base! The weather setup does not appear ideal for our trajectory, but we intend to put ourselves in a great spot in Kansas for Sunday's weather.
