Day 7: Right-Movers, Restaurants, and Reflectivity

Today started like any other with either a breakfast at Village Inn or PT in small room. After which we began the weather brief, where we selected the target counties of Sedgwick and Phillips up in the NE corner of CO. Little did we know that the storms would force us up into Sidney, Nebraska.

We had some time to kill until convective initiation, so naturally we went to a Sterling State park. We played frisbee for a while and eventually walked the trail. Big Deborah learned to fly the drone and grabbed a video of the team. All in all we relied of Alex's photography skills to get us this group photo.

After the leisure tour in the park, we went the world prestigious J&L Café, where we ingested their famous 5 egg omelets.

We made a brief stop by Walmart then headed out to go see our first potential storm. While we were observing the storm, it began to split into a right-mover and a left-mover.

Over the course of half an hour the the right-mover faded away, leaving the left mover all alone.

We drove to Sidney, NE in hopes of finding the chosen one (supercell) that would give us a tornado.

Alas, due to the most of the storms falling apart we had to put our tornado catching bottles up for now….
